GEM 2024 – Tirana (Albania)

DESCRIPTION

The GEM-SILKWAY (in short GEM) 2024 Europe edition “Energy Transition in European Countries” took place from September 2 to September 7, 2024, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Tirana (Tirana, AL).

GEM  Europe was jointly organized by the University of Tirana and the University of Milano-Bicocca (Milan, IT).

GEM  Europe saw the participation of 20 international students.  The lecturers, all of them of excellence in their field, were chosen among the SILKWAY Network members. According to our aim of showing the multiple and complex facets of a holistic approach to energy, the teachers were carefully diversified by their field of expertise.

Embark on a transformative journey with our GEM-SILKWAY 2024 Summer School on Energy Transition in Tirana, a program meticulously designed to del-ve into the realms of sustainability, energy transition, and green energy mana-gement. This immersive one-week experience offers participants a unique ex-ploration of cutting-edge renewable energy technologies, comprehensive ana-lysis of evolving policies, and an in-depth understanding of the economic di-mensions propelling Europe’s sustainability shift.
At the heart of the GEM-SILKWAY initiative lies a commitment to sustainability and energy transition, as the program addresses the pressing global need for green energy management. With a focus on Eastern Europe, our Summer School adopts a cross-cultural perspective. GEM-SILKWAY, a network of 17+ global partners dedicated to advancing sustainable practices and green ener-gy solutions aims to become a hub for knowledge exchange, fostering a com-munity of over 600 students who have actively contributed to the Alumni GEM network. A dynamic platform for sharing news, information, and engaging in activities related to the ever-evolving landscape of energy sustainability.
